Kids Crafts

So tonight now that the boys are feeling better thought it would be fin to make something. While browsing Hobby Lobby my son saw these cars. They are like bouncy balls after you let them completely dry. They are a great craft because he can crash them all he wants. Here they are!

Quilt Progress

So not a whole lot of progress but this quilt is quite time consuming. So here is the little progress I have made

Here's what it looks like when held up to the window. I love how it gives a glowing look.

Cathedral Window Quilt

So I am sorry there hasn't been any posts for a few days I have been out with the flu for almost a week. However last night I started feeling better and got a wild hair and decided to start yet another challenging quilt. A cathedral windows quilt. Although most people hand sew them I really didn't feel like it so I decided to machine sew. I must say it looks awesome and even forms a little flower design on the back! It is a beautiful quilt and I am very confident I can have it done it not too much time at all. Here are some pics of my quilt in progress and will keep you updated on both the started quilts progress.

If you are interested in learning how to do this I would recommend http://hyena-in-petticoats.blogspot.com/2007/08/cathedral-window-quilt-tutorial.html it is a great place to start.

New Quilt

So my Grandma is feeling a little left out she says shes the only one who hasn't gotten a quilt yet. So I decided to start a new project just for her. It is a bit more complex than I usually do. Anyways it is a log cabin quilt. Her favorite colors are bolds. Here are the first 4 squares.

First two...

Here are the same 4 just showing different placements.

Finished Quilt!!

So I finally finished my twin quilt. I must add that it was about a week in hand sewing. Although my king quilt was hand sewn I had lots of help from a friend, this one I did completely on my own. Very proud. I wanted a more stripe for the binding sew it was lots of random length pieces at 2.5in wide. I also for the first time machine binded. So anyways here it is...

Crayon Roll

So I have been working hard on hand sewing my quilt. I needed a little break from all the finger pricking. So anyways I have seen several of theses tuts but I finally decided to give it a go. Here is the link for the one I used. http://prudentbaby.com/2010/12/baby-kid/how-to-sew-a-crayon-roll-2/

* In hers she says you can also use quilt batting, I used quilt batting because I had it on hand and if you do use it I recommend making it a little smaller than the outer pieces.

Anyway here's mine
