Kids Match Game

I dont use my Cricut very often but as I previously mentioned I have found some gerat cartridges. They inspired me to make a match game for my kids! So much fun! A great way to play around with it! I also discovered the cricut craft room! I must say I am almost addicted to it as well now. Here are some pics of the few cards I have so far.

For the foundation I used the chore chart cartridge and one of the squares at 3.5in.
For the pics I used the B is for Boy cartridge at 2.75

A few more sets and I think it will keep my son busy for a while :)

Christmas Advent Calendar

So for the insides of the envelopes I had to make lots of cute things to pull out and hang over the numbers here is some of what I have made.

I have a few more to finish then will share those pics as well.

More Cards!

I dont know if it is the Christmas season or what has drawn me to making cards I just love it! Any way here are a few more examples of my cards!...

Diy Advent Calendar

Today I will show you how I did the first part of my advent calendar! First I selected a bunch of red and green paper that complimented each other.
(For some reason they look brighter than in real life lol they are really Christmasy)

Then I cut envelopes, You can do this by hand by tracing an old one or in your cricut I cut it so my "square front" is 3.25in.

Then fold all of those envelopes...

And I took the left over scraps and Cut the numbers from 25 all the way down to 1. And Glue them on to your envelope. (If you plan on using this more than once I say dont use a glue stick, It usually doesnt last as long, I used my 2 way glue pen.

Thats it for the first part, I will be back to show you what I am going to be putting inside!
The kids will absolutely love these!

New Pop Tab Items!

Here are some of the new things I have made with pop tabs!

Heres a white clutch...

The lining...

A neon green belt, It is kinda hard to see in the pic's but it is so bright! I love it!

Cricut Chore Chart

So this week I was shopping at Walmart and I couldnt believe it but they had a bunch of cricut carteidges on clerance for 10.00. Crazy right?! Well I had to get one of each lol I usually dont buy them but I got 4 for the price of one. One of them was the Cricut Lite Chore Chart. My son wanted to get started right away so We made the chart and are in the process of making all the chores he wants LOL how fun to trick little ones :) Since we made it he gets up and makes his bed every morning and brushes teeth without being asked! So cool! So here are the pics. (He picked the colors)

Now I am attaching magnets to them and to the chart so as he completes them he can put them up!

A little tip, I have been in a sense collecting paint chips from the store, I have used a bunch in this project! They are not huge pieces but these were cut at 1.5in so perfect size to not have to cut a 12x12 paper. :)

Rag Quilt Part 2

So, I am back to give you part 2 of the rag quilt tutorial.

So I like to take my squares and line them up with a blanket that I know fits.

I take my squares and start covering the other blanket.

Keep covering, I usually ad a few extra squares to each side because remember our squares will shrink.

Once you have your lay out it is time to start sewing.

I like to measure 1/2 in and place a piece of tape to use as a guide. This will make the fringe at the end.

Sew all those squares together with that seam allowance.

It should look like this.

The backs will look like this! You can also use a thread that blends with your fabric.

Here's an example of the shrinkage that occurs. However it looks worse because my strips are a little over more than it looks like.

Sew all those squares to make strips!

Then well sew our strips together it should look like this.

After all our strips are sewn together we will start the long process, cutting. I recommend putting on a movie and using some spring loaded scissors they are great on the hand too! You will want to cut about every 1/4in its not crucial that they are 100% even. I try to make them a little different I like the way it looks.

It should look like this. If you happen to cut through the seam just run over it with your sewing machine quick. The fringe will cover it. The very last step is to wash your blanket then dry it, when drying try to empty the lint trap about every 30 min because this will clog it fast the first 2 times or so. This will begin the fraying process. I recommend drying it twice. Then it is ready to use or give as gift! Such a great project! And again great for a beginner! Now that's all but i will post a pic after mine is finished cutting and washed and dried you can see the finished project!
